Educational Materials

 

The Okmulgee County Conservation District has conservation and environmental education materials to provide educational activities. These materials are also available for check out to local educators. Some of these items are complete kits and trucks with all the necessary materials for an activity. Incredible Journey : This trunk is an adventure into the life of a water molecule. It demonstrates a large variety of locations there water might be located. While this activity can be done indoors or out, it does require at least an open area of 30' x 30'. At the end of this activity, participants are the proud owners of a water bracelet.

Dig It!: This trunk is modeled in the fashion an archeology dig. In the trunk are 10 shoeboxes of soil that contains hidden treasures representing that many things that are hidden in the soil. This activity can be done indoors or out.

Soil Testing : This kit contains everything necessary to test the ph of soil and test the N P and K levels.

Soil Painting: This kit is made up of the different soils from Oklahoma . These soils, when processed and mixed with glue, become paint.
